About the Native American Woman Owner
Please allow me to introduce myself: My name is Camie. I was born in Jacksonville, Florida and when I was young, I learned that I am Native American in both my mother’s – Cherokee, and my father’s – Lower Muskogee Creek, lineage.
On August 26, 2024, I became a Citizen of the Lower Muskogee Creek Tribe in southwest Georgia and received multiple books so as to familiarize myself with my tribe. In my reading of said books, I can trace my 5X great grandfather, Samual Ford, back to his birth in 1799, know he was on the Department of the Interior of the Closing of the Citizenship Roll of the Muskogee Creek Nation and was listed on the 1850 Census with his family.
My town is Thlopthlocco (pronounced "Flo-Flacko"), and I am Water Clan with colors of blue and green that are reflected in my new brand packaging. My Clan Animal is Turtle, and I am proud to display the Eastern Box Turtle on my packaging. Water Clan is found in the East – the direction of Healers. I attend every Ceremony and other Tribal event that I possibly can living 8 hours away from our land. I’m learning the Muskogee language and traditions as best I can while residing in South Florida. I am immersing myself into my Culture as daily life outside of the Tribe allows.
